A little background: Mom is a surgical nurse.
Mom never was totally against my music. In fact at one point she could name a band when she heard one of their songs. She could distinguish Van Halen, Queensryche, Metallica, Ozzy, Guns and Roses, Scorpions... She still does pretty well.
While on a bike tour (she was one of the nurses who rode in the ambulance) she tripped out the EMTs. They were listening to Queensryche. They asked Mom if she minded the music. Mom said "No, I like Queensryche". Totally blew them away. She started talking about them (QR) and Metallica. Guess they never met a cool Mom before.
