Poetry

My poems are originals. They are mainly short, dark and to the point. I ask that you enjoy them. Don't take them too seriously (Realm was not written about what it seems).

"The Grave"
(1-13-88)
Enter this place; my hideaway
leave behind all your fears
Take hold of the swinging blade
Don't cry any tears.

Moonlight streaming through the mist
the tricks on the mind are played
Staring at the ground; you see what's been made.

"Realm of Darkness"
(Nov. 1985)
The realm of darkness,
should I fear?
for none come back,
those foolish to go near.
You go there once,
so be prepared.
The realm of Darkness,
I am scared.

"Tell Me"
(2-12-87)
Tell me why the sky is blue.
Tell me why there is morning dew.
Tell me why the world is round.
Tell me why the rain falls to the ground.
Tell me how the birds they fly.
Tell me how to touch the sky.
Tell me how to see the years.
Tell me how to fight my fears.
Tell me why I love you.
Tell me how to be true.

"Nite Cry"
(1-8-92)
"Salutations," hailed the dark figure,
"I have come once again.
No longer will you escape me
for I shall cause unending pain."
In an instant the light abandoned the room.
The silence foretold an unspeakable doom.
The sinister creature smiled,
"Come with me, my child."
Death's putrid smell filled the air.
The time had come for my final prayer.
As the Beast approached, It's eyes were gleaming.
All was not lost; for I awoke.....Screaming.

"Motto"
(6-3-92)
Don't have sad eyes,
Don't dwell on the pain,
Leave it behind.
Don't think of problems that haven't arrived,
Don't be worried by the future,
Leave it for tomorrow.
Don't be scared of the unknown,
Don't run from fear,
Let it happen.
Don't let the past prevail,
Don't miss the opportunities of today,
Live life in the present.
Don't expect anything to be easy,
Don't ever give up,
Life can be wonderful.

"Winter Nite"
(2-19-87)
Walking in this treacherous land
you grab ahold of a frozen hand.
The wind whipping through your hair,
howling at you to beware.
The snow falling to the ground,
the sleeping world has been bound.

Wolf
Running through the vast snowdrifts,
feeling as though you've lost your wits.
The wind calling out your name,
the Reaper waiting just the same.
The snow drifting in the air,
you've time to say one last prayer.

Stumbling past the barren trees,
the weekness growing in your knees.
The wind blowing colder still,
it's gusts; how they chill.
The snow now covering you,
it's time this journey was through.

"Grandma"
Her beauty was unsurpassing
She gave so much.
Her laughter was a sweet melody
She had so much joy.
Her wisdom came from her heart
She was loved much.
Her love poured forth to everyone
She will be missed.
Her memory will remain
She was a wonderful lady.
Her name was Rose Allen
She was my Grandma.

"Question"
(3-31-92)
Where does Love truly exist?
Is it in the heart, soul, or mind?
Why is it said only fools have this?
Is it something too foolish to find?
How does one know Love is there?
Is it easy to preceive?
When is the right time for Love to be declared?
Is one always to be deceived?
What does it take for one to be true?
Is it just a game?
Who is to say the things love can do?
Is it possible for two to feel the same?

"Sleep"
(6-21-87)
Shall I tell you a tale
full of romance and glory?
Should I sing you a song?
or read you a story?
What should I do to help
you sleep through the night?
Tell me and I'll do it
with great delight.
Close your eyes and all
your troubles are gone
When you rise
it will be dawn.

"The End"
(2-12-87)
The dark times are coming soon,
By the hour of the New Moon.
Will you stand and stare,
As we go; do you dare?
It all seems so frightening,
The cracking thunder and bright lightening.
The world that was once is gone.
There will be no light of dawn.
Walk down that lonesome mile,
Your breath comes fast all the while.
Could it be a dream? For you can not scream.
Darkended figures multiply.
The leaves turn then die.
The ancient singing can be heard.
There is no song of a bird.
You feel without a friend.
Can't you see, this is the end.

"Midnight Drags"
(2-12-99)
Muscle cars
Engines straining to be free
Under the stars
The smoke clouding all you see
Motors reving
Lights are flashing
The race is underway
Quarter mile
Fans are cheering
Bets are held to pay
Finish line
The outcome is in sight
Record time
The Vega wins tonight
